2001 Rsx Type S K20a2
First Rsx Type S introduced in the United states was in 2001 and maker was Acura. They decided to launch there new engine series known as the K series. 2001-2004 had the same engine design which was the K20a2 performance engine. These engines are in-line four-cylinder engine displacing 2.0-liters with double overhead cams (DOHC), 16-valves and advanced i-VTEC valve train technology. I-vtec allows for precise control over the opening and how long they remain open during the engines entire operating range. Which allows for optimum mid and high range power and torque.

2006 Rsx Type S K20z1
The new engine redesign was introduced in the 2005-2006 Acura Rsx Type S Models called the K20z1. It was a little similar to the original one with new internal improvements. The Engine output was optimized by applying high performance camshafts and enlarging the diameter of the intake duct by 10 percent. These new modifications allowed for a horsepower boost from 200 HP in the original engine to 210 HP and an increase to 143 lb-ft of torque.
